Angel training

I gave a presentation today to two anesthesiologists from Riley. The session was intended to be training oriented, but it ended up being more of an overview. The topics covered were Assessments, quizzes, file uploads, video and using the HTML editor with various offshoots from those topics. For ANGEL users with limited computing skills, this number of topics is too ambitious. I think The session was one hour, fifteen minutes. Doug and Sue are presenting separate sessions covering PowerPoint and EDACTIC.

Holiday, but not for ANGEL

This morning I logged in to check on things, and had 4 ANGEL support issues that people needed help with. Password problems, quizzes not submitting, faculty enrollment needs and a request to get a survey link up. I took care of the people needing immediate help with some emails back and forth. It seems there is a problem submitting quizzes for people that saved quiz answers at a point before ANGEL was upgraded to 7.2. I am just now putting the pieces together about this after knowing about this for a while. One of those things that is tough to nail down since the problem happens infrequently.  The solution is to delete the user’s pending submission, but they lose any answers they have completed. This is generally not a problem, especially at this point since the pending submission is a few months old and they probably just clicked the quiz to look at it and decided to come back later. I noticed there were pending resident procedure quizzes all the way back to 2004, so I got rid of those. Just a drop in the bucket towards all of the glitches created because courses are not cleaned up before being reused.

Anesthesia group quiz and forum on Angel

Worked on a sample discussion forum and sample multiple choice quiz for the Riley Anesthesia group in Angel this morning. I learned a little more about the capabilities of Angel and am getting a better feel for the overall system as time passes.

Case Log status

Yesterday, I finished developing the reports for the Resident Case Log and the Case Log Addendum. In corresponding with Jeanette, she stated everything looked in order and wanted to know if she could have a few residents use the online forms. She would then test the form reports to be sure she is seeing all the info she needs to. I told her she was free to use them and to be sure to let me know if the reports or forms need additional info recorded or viewed, and I would make the changes. Applied Faculty rights to her account for both forms to enable her to view the reports online. The PDA forms are ready for use also. As residents begin to want to use those forms on the handheld, I will enter them into a group that will have access to those specific resident forms.

First Floor PC problem

It is a computer on the first floor behind to the circulation desk that looks like the monitor is having problems. I will replace the monitor and see if that fix the problem.

Vista Support

Helped a student with a laptop problem. She had Vista Home Edition and she were having problem after she power the computer on. An error messages came up said that the LogonIU.exe is corrupt, and then the blue screen of death. I told her to rebuild the computer because she have lot more problems, her wireless is not working either.
