UpToDate is now available to IU School of Medicine users. Access is limited to on-campus at the Clarian and IUPUI campus IP numbers by the contract, i.e. no remote access is available. UpToDate performs a continuous review of over 270 journals and other resources. It is updated four times a year.
Experts in subspecialties synthesize and summarize the latest evidence and provide specific, practical recommendations for diagnosis and treatment. UpToDate combines the broad coverage of adult primary care with the in-depth information written by, and for, internists.

IUSM PDA Weblog
The IUSM PDA Weblog is a dynamic PDA information center featuring Quick Links to handheld device hardware, medical software and general medical PDA information. Weblog entries include links to interesting articles and websites; a Karma Voting function allowing individuals to rate content entries; and a Comments function allowing individuals to add comments to entries.
An important feature of the Weblog is community content submission; once an individual signs up as an author, he or she may add content to share with the IUSM community as a whole.
If you are interested in becoming a contributing member of the IUSM PDA Weblog, send an email to Amy Hatfield (ajhatfie@iupui.edu). Please include your IU NetworkID. Amy will sign you up and walk you through the easy process of adding content.

Event to raise awareness of the usefulness of handheld devices in medical education. Hardware and software demonstrations will be provided along with some faculty, staff and students speaking about their experiences with handhelds. Belltech.logix reps will have iPAQs available - and will offer a discount for a low end handheld and high end handheld. CDW will represent Palm PDAs and HP will represent Tablet PCs. Skyscape has provided software to try out - and will offer a discount as well. Faculty, staff and students are invited. Stop by!
