The ISI Journal Citation Reports (JCR) is a unique multidisciplinary database presenting quantifiable statistical data including journal impact factors. Impact factors provide a systematic, objective way to determine relative importance of journals within subject categories.

For promotion & tenure purposes many IUSM faculty members use the JCR journal Impact Factor to rank and compare the journals that publish their articles with other journals in their field.
